Day 8 – Is this worth it?

August 8th, 2023

5:40 am

Woke up prior to my alarm at 4:50 am. I did have a moment where I wanted to jump back into bed but I kept thinking to myself, “don’t start your day with a loss, be thankful you did versus wishing you just got up”. Then I thought to myself why I’m doing this. Staying consistent in the process. Some days will be better than others but the goal remains the same. Stay the course regardless of how you feel at the moment.

“7 Habits of Highly Effective People”

Summary of what I read today:

  • Habit 3 “Put First Things First”
    • Effectiveness with PEOPLE
    • Efficiency with THINGS
    • “Frustration is a function of our expectations, and our expectations are often a reflection of the social mirror rather than our own values and priorities”
      • when we get frustrated, it’s often because we’re trying to meet expectations that come from what we think others want or what society tells us to want, rather than what we genuinely care about.

Day 8 Reflection:

Takeaway:

  • Be Flexible
    • Not everyone sees it the way you do. Try to figure out a win/win situation as best as you can.
