4:45 am
My usual alarms goes off at 5 but today I woke up on my own at 4:10 am PST. I’m sure this was more due to excitement of starting something new, a new month ready to get after it. Looking forward to the next 75 days of this journey.
Here’s a quick reminder of the task that I must do daily. If I miss even one of these I must start over:
- Follow a diet
- 2 Workouts
- 1 gallon of water
- Read at least 10 pages
- Take a progress picture

1 Gallon of Water
Drank the full 128 ounces of water by 6:30 pm today. I’m already been drinking a lot of water prior to starting 75 Hard so I didn’t have any issues with this. I also bought a one gallon jug to make it easier to keep track of how much I have left.

Read at least 10 pages
I am re reading “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”. I read this book over 10 years ago so it was due for a re read. I like to re read books as I gain new perspective on ideas and also tend to pick up other concepts as well.
Summary of what I read today:
- We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit – Aristotle
- Felt this was great reminder as I embark on this 75 hard journey. The purpose of this program is to become excellent by building great habits for myself.
- Another take away was Habits are formed when there is an intersection of 3 things
- Knowledge – what to do and why
- Skill – how to do
- Desire – want to do

Day 1 Reflection:
Takeaway:
- As with anything new. The first day is always fun and exciting. It wasn’t very hard but I credit it to some of the habits that I’ve already formed over the last year.
- I know some days will be harder, some will be easier but the goal is to stay the course. I must be consistently good over being occasionally great.
